For those of you who have been looking for the latest firmware update for the Insignia NS-2BRDVD Blu-Ray player the link is now available on InsigniaProducts.com. If you are in need of this updated please visit this link to download the updated. The instructions below will assist you in getting this firmware update installed onto your Blu-Ray player. First: download the update
file
- Click HERE
to download the update file. If a pop-up window opens telling you to open, save
or cancel, click Save and save the file
to your desktop. If you save it to another location, make note of where that
is.
Note: File size is approximately 35 MB. Estimated download time is 3-4
minutes (with a 1.5 Mbps broadband connection).
- Insert a blank, recordable CD-R, DVD-R, or DVD+R into your computer’s
writable disc drive. If a CD pop-up window opens, close it.
Second: burn a CD or DVD from the
update file
- Click on the file located on your desktop or open a file manager (such as
Windows Explorer) and find the file you downloaded.
- Double-click the update file, then follow the on-screen instructions to
finish the burning process.
Note: This step works only on computers that
have appropriate image burning software installed. If this step does not work
for you, call Insignia Customer Support at (877) 467-4289 to order a free update
CD. Note: This step requires that you
burn, create or copy an image (not data) file but your image burning software
may call it something else. Refer to your software’s online help for information
on how to burn an ISO file.
- OR –
(if double-click method above does not work)
If you run Windows and have Cyberlink’s Power 2 Go
installed on your computer:
- Open Power 2 Go and click Copy Disc
under the list of burning options.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to burn the ISO image to a CD.
If you run Windows and have Roxio’s
Easy Media Creator® installed on your computer:
- Open Easy Media Creator and click Copy
CD under the list of options.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to burn the ISO image to a CD.
If you run Windows and have Nero 9
CD/DVD Burner installed on your computer:
- Open CD/DVD Burner and click File,
then Burn Image.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to burn the ISO image to a CD.
If you run Windows and have Sonic
RecordNow! 7 installed on your computer:
- From the main menu, click the Backup
Projects tab, and click Burn
Image.
- Click Browse, find the file you
downloaded and click Add, then click
Burn.
If you have any other image burning software
installed on your computer, follow the software’s online help
instructions to create a disc from the downloaded update file.
Note: Instructions will vary with operating
system and software version. If instructions provided here do not help, call the
call Insignia Customer Support at (877) 467-4289 to order a free update
CD.
If you are unable
to burn an installation CD/DVD
If double-clicking the update file
does not automatically start your image burning software or you do not have
image burning software installed on your computer, call Insignia Customer
Support at (877) 467-4289 to order a free update CD.
Last: install the
update
- Turn on your TV and Blu-ray DVD player.
- Eject any discs that are in the player and turn the player off.
- Turn on the player and insert the CD containing the update file into your
player. Installation starts automatically.
- Watch your TV screen for the startup screen.
 - Select OK, then press ENTER on the remote control that came with your
Blu-ray player. The update progresses automatically.

IMPORTANT: Do not turn off power while update
is in progress. A screen will let you know when installation is
complete. - Remove the disc and press ENTER on
your player’s remote control. The tray closes and your player restarts. If it
does not automatically do this, turn your player off, then on again.
