Re: DVD movies freezing up

This probably has nothing to do with the Player. This is a problem with the content on NFlix. I had the same problem with BeetleJuice. Locked up at the same point every time. I reported it to NetFlix and they had it fixed in a week.

Re: DVD movies freezing up

My lockups were with DVD, not Netflix; Netflix works fine. I am most concerened about not being able to determine my firmware version...is this supposed to happen?

Re: DVD movies freezing up

I just bought a second NS-WBRDVD for another room in the house and did the pkg_dvd_2_1_100_RC_29_bestbuy upgrade (figured if that one flaked out, i could easily return it for 'fresh' firmware) with no issues.

Netflix audio/video plays fine

Pandora audio plays fine

DVD movie doesn't lockup

Connection is HDMI directly connected to 19 inch 720p Dynex TV.

I haven't updated my original NS-WBRDVD to the new firmware because of all the posts here.  However I did notice one difference between the two.  The first one (purchased ~11/09) has bd live, dvd, hdmi, dts-hd, dolby, energy-star decals on the top.  While the new one (purchased 7/10/10) has the same, but adds a 'wifi certified' decal.

Is it safe to upgrade the 11/09 purchased player, or are older models the one's with issues?

Original NS-WBRDVD connection is HDMI directly connected to 32 inch 720p Dynex TV.

2 Players: NS-WBRDVD (11/09, 7/10)
Remotes: BD003

Hello  harringg,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

There should be no problem at all doing the firmware update to your 11-09 player. In fact, I would encourage you to do it so you can enjoy Pandora!

Let me know how it went!

If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!

Thank you,

Hello all,

Welcome to Community@Inisgnia™!

To all of you experiencing HDMI sound issues, check that the sound settings on your player are correct (Keep in mind that Pandora and Netflix transmit audio on 2.0). Please try setting the Audio output on the player to Bitstream Mixed or PCM (try them both if not getting results.

Regarding Pandora registration, you will find on the players menu, both options to register Pandora or Netflix, and will let you choose if you already have an account or if you are a new user. You will be provided an Activation Code to link the player to Pandora and finish the activation process (pretty much the same way you did with Netflix the first time you registered).

Let me know if it worked and any other issues you may encounter along the way.

Thank you,

Gonza,

Need help with the Pandora access.  I have the Insignia NS-WBRDVD unit.  I reset to the factory defaults.  I re-installed the latest update via USB flash drive.  My wireless network works fine - it connects during the testing and it also accesses BD live content.

What happens everytime that I try to connect to Pandora is that after attempting authenticating the following message appears -  A network error has occured. Please check your player network connection and try again. The application will now exit.

I bought the unit in December 2009.  What is the issue?
