Thanks for the update! My parents' works now, but they updated and increased the power on their internet. The 2 things combined have made it work! (not sure which one is totally responsible!) Thanks for your help.

That appears to have fixed the problem, but I can't be totally sure because now my sound doesn't work. All I hear is hissing.
Searching the forums says to revert to the previous firmware. As you can guess, that would just be a visious cycle.
This thing is garbage.

When you say that "sound doesn't work," what exactly do you mean? Are you talking about no sound in all modes, e.g., Pandora, Netflix, DVD/Blu-ray playback? If you provide us with more details, we'll look into the issue for you.
