The instructions below will assist you in getting this firmware update installed onto your Blu-Ray player.
First: download the update
file
to download the update file. If a pop-up window opens telling you to open, save
or cancel, click Save and save the file
to your desktop. If you save it to another location, make note of where that
is.
Note: File size is approximately 35 MB. Estimated download time is 3-4 minutes (with a 1.5 Mbps broadband connection). - Insert a blank, recordable CD-R, DVD-R, or DVD+R into your computer’s writable disc drive. If a CD pop-up window opens, close it.
- Click on the file located on your desktop or open a file manager (such as Windows Explorer) and find the file you downloaded.
- Double-click the update file, then follow the on-screen instructions to finish the burning process.
Note: This step requires that you burn, create or copy an image (not data) file but your image burning software may call it something else. Refer to your software’s online help for information on how to burn an ISO file.
- OR – (if double-click method above does not work)
If you run Windows and have Cyberlink’s Power 2 Go installed on your computer:
- Open Power 2 Go and click Copy Disc under the list of burning options.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to burn the ISO image to a CD.
- Open Easy Media Creator and click Copy CD under the list of options.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to burn the ISO image to a CD.
- Open CD/DVD Burner and click File, then Burn Image.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to burn the ISO image to a CD.
- From the main menu, click the Backup Projects tab, and click Burn Image.
- Click Browse, find the file you downloaded and click Add, then click Burn.
Note: Instructions will vary with operating system and software version. If instructions provided here do not help, call the call Insignia Customer Support at (877) 467-4289 to order a free update CD.
If you are unable to burn an installation CD/DVD
If double-clicking the update file does not automatically start your image burning software or you do not have image burning software installed on your computer, call Insignia Customer Support at (877) 467-4289 to order a free update CD.
Last: install the update
- Turn on your TV and Blu-ray DVD player.
- Eject any discs that are in the player and turn the player off.
- Turn on the player and insert the CD containing the update file into your player. Installation starts automatically.
- Watch your TV screen for the startup screen.

- Select OK, then press ENTER on the remote control that came with your
Blu-ray player. The update progresses automatically.

IMPORTANT: Do not turn off power while update is in progress.
A screen will let you know when installation is complete. - Remove the disc and press ENTER on
your player’s remote control. The tray closes and your player restarts. If it
does not automatically do this, turn your player off, then on again.
