Hi,
I have a 22" Insignia LCD TV 720P (NS-LCD22-09) and recently purchased an Insignia Blu-ray player (NS-2BRDVD.) Although I was able to connect the AV cables and watch a Blu-ray DVD under the TV's "Component" input, the HDMI input does not work. I bought an HDMI cable that's supposed to be universal and hooked it up, switched the input to "HDMI" and... nothing. I tried it a couple of times, unplugging and turning off the devices, but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?
Because I'm guessing in advance that you're going to say this is the fault of the cable, I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for a good, cheap (this has already cost too much money, and CNET says Amazon has good cables for $10) HDMI cable...
Thanks!

Hello buddyo,
Welcome to Community @ Insignia™!
The truth is that it could be the cable, or one of the HDMI ports, or even possibly the ports on both products. The cable is the first, easiest thing to test. If a new cable doesn't resolve the issue, then service for the TV or the Blu-ray player may be your next step, unfortunately. If your purchase of the Blu-ray player is recent enough, troubleshooting at the store of purchase or an exchange under the return policy may be additional options for your consideration.
Keep us posted. If there's anything we can do to assist, we will.
Regards,
John
