Applied the June Firmware update. Used Nero to open iso image; burned files to dvd-r. Everything went smoothly. After searching posts, I bought a cheap 4gb usb 2.0 thumbdrive and a 50 foot cat5e ethernet cable. Plugged into router and NS-2BRDVD ethernet port. New launcher screen asks if you want to use optical disk, usb, or enter set-up. I didn't realize that I had to choose the usb and then tell the unit that I wanted to use the thumbdrive as BD Content stgorage, to get the BD live to work. Once I did that the unit formatted the thumbdrive. (I'd previously set up the network settings to allways allow access and to automatically find an ip address.) I then put in the Transformers disc and selected BD Live from the disc's extras menu. I then had to register with both Sony and Paramount; typing with the remote is a real buzzkill.
Ultimately, after about 15 minutes of doing all the above, the unit hit the internet and accessed the BD live content.
Truthfully, not worth the effort, as the "bonus content" was windowed and appeared to be low-resolution. There wer a couple of add-ons that identified which Transformer was in the scene and what it could do, but it detracted from the movie.
If there are future fimware updates that can be done via the unit's ip connection, then I may change my opinion.

Yes, thank you Bmartinmun! Your post was far more useful than even Insignia Tech support. I downloaded the Live firmware the day it became available but I didn't know about needing the USB flash drive too in order to use the Live feature (that is until I read your post). Sadly, I reported not being able to use my BD-Live feature to Insignia tech support after the new firmware flash but they would only say:
"[Ticket#2009071310000366] From the information that you gave me I believe that the player might have a malfunction, and it should be looked at by a technician. I would recommend that you take it to the store where you bought it along with the receipt and they will provide you with a resolution."
Pathetic really.
