I'm frustrated because I updated my firmware, connected my player to the internet with a networking cable, tested my connection and got an 'ok', but still can't get it to work. I tried several Blu-Rays with BD live features, but when I try to access them, I get messages that it's not available in my area, or I'm not connected to the internet. Please help!
Problem solved - see my post at the bottom!

Hi JimmyReno,
Welcome to Community@Inisgnia™!
Are you connecting the player directly to the modem or are you doing it via router? Take into account that the router has a firewall that may not allow you to go online, even when you check that you are connected. My advise is to try connecting it directly to the modem to see if it works (take into account you will need to restart the modem to get a vaild IP address for the player). If, on the other hand, you are already connected directly, try doing the firmware once again, and double check that the BD Live features you are trying to see are in fact available in your state.
Thank you,
Gonza

I no longer own this model(sold it and picked up the NSBRDV3), but wanted to log in the exact same issue when i did own it. The connection tested "OK", and I had a newly formatted flash drive in the unit, still got the same "must connect to the internet message" at the BD live screens.
And its not my netowork setup, as my NSBRDVD3 connects with no problems. good luck to you all.

I FINALLY figured it out! Not only do you have to have a USB drive on the back of the Blu-Ray Player, but you have to set it up to work. To do this, you have to install the latest update and attach a USB drive. Then eject a disc or turn on the system without a disc inside. This will give you a menu with three options - Optical Disc, USB Drive, and System Settings (these may not be entirely correct, but something like this). Select the USB Drive. You will then have the option to play a media file from the drive or use the USB drive for BD Live storage. Select BD Live storage, and then the BD Live features on a Blu-Ray disc seem to work.
There was a suggestion that my router might be the problem. I do run through a router, and I even have a switcher behind my TV for the Blu-Ray Player and a video game system. This was not the problem. The problem was the USB drive. Now it seems to work fine.
