Firstly I do not understand why new Blu Ray discs will not play in older machines that do not have a firmware update. Why are they messing with the Blu Ray standard?
With that being the case why are companies no longer supporting machines that are not even 2 years old? If I go out and buy a new Blu Ray player tomorrow so that I can play discs being produced today, then how long before that box will no longer play new discs and I will have to use it as a DVD only player?
I know it's the conspiracy theorist in me but you have to wonder if this is being done on purpose just to force people to buy new players since fewer people are buying new electronics equipment.
