We have an Insignia Blue Ray disk player NS-BRDVD that will not play any of the recent Blue Ray disks that we have purchased including Prince of Persia among others. It starts to play the previews and goes to the menu but when we press "Play" it sits and spins for a few minutes and then returns to the menu. Older blue ray disks seem to play just fine.
I have looked up this player on the Insignia site and attempted to follow the directions provided for upgrading the firmware. However there are 2 different firmware upgrade files and the instructions to determine which file to use don't seem to apply. So I have followed the instructions to burn CD's for both files. I have then taken each of those CD's and put them into the NS-BRDVD player but nothing happens.

Hello joandstanton,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
If only newer disks are not playing, most provably this will be related to the old firmware not being able to recognize those disks, in which case, you will need to do the update for the unit to start working with them.
First, we will need to find which firmware will be the one needed, as stated on the guide you will need to look for the "E" number on the back part of your player, it should start either with E5E or E5H (if none of the options are the ones listed, then check the model number since we may be looking at an incorrect model).
Download the correct .iso file and you will need to burn the file to a disk, make sure that all the files contained are displayed on the Disk's root (you can either use an image burner, or open the iso and then copying those files). Also try using a low burning speed (4X) to avoid reading problems.
Finally insert the disk and select YES when asked.
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!
Thank you,
Guille
