I just rented "Super 8" from Redbox and about half way through the movie (scene 10) the action froze. After a few seconds it started again, in a different place in the movie, but froze again. It kept doing this. I looked at the disc to make sure it was clean and tried watching the movie a couple of more times before giving up. I updated the firmware about two weeks ago so that can't be the problem. I've had intermittent issues like this with blu-ray and regular DVDs and hoped the firmware update would solve the problem. I just looked at my "settings" menu and the 24p is off. Any ideas?
It seems likely that you are experiencing hardware issues. As a result I would suggest taking the player, along with the receipt, to the place of purchase to obtain service. The NS-BRDVD3 has a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase.
