NS-BRDVD4 player - "no internet connection" box won't go away

i just got this player, and when it's on and not playing a disc, the screensaver/menu screen has on the lower right side a box saying "it appears that your player does not have an internet connection set up" or words to that effect. can anyone tell me how to make that box go away? i don't intend at this time to connect this player to the internet, and this box continually popping up is a minor annoyance, but one i'd like to make go away if possible.  i've tried to let the machine know that i don't have an internet connection by changing the "IP address" setting to "off" under "network" but this doesn't make that dialog box go away.  thanks for any info.
