NS-BRDVD4: "Drive" blu ray, screen goes black

Upon insertion of the disc, a loading icon from the film fully loads, then. Sony pictures logic with audio plays, then-- the screen goes black. No audio or video.

Other blu ray discs play perfectly.

Please advise

Thanks!

Such a hassle. I would have I take my blu ray player to my office hook t up to an Ethernet port (because I live in an apartment that only offers wifi) as well as a tv, and install. I am going to tell my friends and family to avoid your products.

Hello Nick,

Unfortunately, all Blu-ray players -- regardless of brand -- require occasional firmware updates in order for disks to continue to play. This is due to changing encryption by the disk vendors to help prevent piracy.

Thankfully, directly connecting your player to the internet is not the only way to complete an update.  You may update the firmware using the player's USB port. You can find the update file and complete instructions on our website. I hope this helps.

John
