Does anyone have the old update file for the NS-WBRDVD Firmware Update on 05.20.10? I have tried every which way to update this player and am being told it may be internally defective by calling CS tech support. I was told by CS they do not keep the old firmware updates and I would like to see if an older version would possibly go in. I bought this refurbed through MidnightBox.com and did not realize there was a problem until now when I decided to try an upgrade to get Pandora. I'm not expecting very much help from MB on this so trying an older firmware may be my only choice unless someone else has a good idea. I have reset the player to factory default, left it unplugged for 2 hours. Tried 4 usb thumb drives 2 I had reformatted first... I have Tried everything I read online so far and still same error message. So if someone has this file I would greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone have the old update file for the NS-WBRDVD Firmware Update on 05.20.10? I have tried every which way to update this player wiht the August update but keep getting the internal error 4000 and am being told it may be internally defective by calling CS tech support. I was told by CS they do not keep the old firmware updates and I would like to see if an older version would possibly go in. I have tried to search the net to see if it was in Rapidshare or someplace else but do not have the original file name.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello kulardenu,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
You mentioned you tried every way possible, however try this:
1- Download the firmware update
2- Copy the file to a USB Drive (it should be empty and FAT32 formatted)
3- Turn off the player and plug the USB drive
4- Turn on the player and follow the installation wizard
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!
Thank you,

Downloaded and installed the latest Firmware update, but it has done nothing to fix the DVD issues I had with the previous update. I mentioned these issues in the other thread before it was merged with this one.
Pixars, Up, Bolt and The Incredibles all freeze up. They are store bought DVDs that play fine in a regular DVD player.
I thought this was an issue that would be corrected with a new Firmware release.

The 08/2010 Insignia Blu-ray NS-WBRDVD firmware update keeps failing with "Internal Error Code 4000."
I have tried four different newly formated FAT32 USB Flash drives that I directly downloaded the 08/2010 NS-WBRDVD firmware update to, and get the same "UPDATE FAILED due to Internal Error Code 4000."
What does Internal Error Code 4000 mean and how can I successfully flash the 08/2010 firmware.
Please note, I already trolled this forum and read about the other people who also got the Internal Error Code 4000 message and also tried to flash to the 05/2010 firmware (which I kept on my computer), but also get the Internal Error Code 4000 message and update failed message.
Please help!
Thank you!!

Hello mike,
This seems to be a problem with the downloaded file not being valid. Either because there was a problem while downloading or while coping to the drive. Please try downloading the file again from:
Once you downloaded the file to your hard drive, copy it to the USB drive (to the root of the USB). Finally turn off your player, insert the drive and turn it back on. After that you will be shown the update option that you should confirm.
If the issue persists, please take the player back to the store so a Geek Squad Agent can assist you personally on this.
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!
Thank you,
Gonza

Tried this again & the 5-10 and still same message Internal 4000 error. Can't take this to Best Buy as I bought this from Midnightbox.com. Also Midnightbox.com will not respond to emails thet this is defective so I advise staying away from them & also advise to not but any more Insignia Products. I am mpving on to Sony or Samsung and this player is a poorly designed unit.
Will post this at SlickDeals, Amazon, DaddO... to warn people to avoid my problems.

Hello, my bluray is new, freshly out of the box, plugged it and only get the logo image, nothing else does the button only works on the remote control to open / close the gate. Download the new firmware and record it in a pen drive but I get error 4000. How is the next step?
