just wondering if the 2 gig file limit is being worked on. its a pain to split up 4 and 8 gig mkv files into 2 gig parts. i cant wait to update my player and finally be able to play mkv,s with no problems.

Hello all,
Regarding MKV files, this feature is not supported. Checking all the information provided in this thread, there will be certain restrictions for this type of files that you will need to take into account when burning this movies.
Thank you,

Well why didnt you tell us that month's ago?, only reason i bought this is for .mkv playback.
I found using this progg you can convert your .mkv/.ts files in to a blu-ray which if small enough can burn on a dvd-r

That's too bad. I too bought this player only beacuse of its mkv playback. I dont burn anything anymore, usb stick is my way to watch. Is it too hard for insignia guys to fix this small filesize error?

The file size issue is also on MP4 and AVI files.

I have the same issue and it all seems to point to the 2GB mark in the files. All play fine on PC. If a 4GB file it stops half way thru and of 3GB file it gets @ 2/3 thru etc. If I convert to a 2GB file so far it's fine but that bode well with a HD file. I was upset enough with FAT 4GB limit as I have several HD movies well over 4GB. Now it seems there is a 2GB issue!
Any help out there?
Thanks
