I have a Blu-ray player NS-WBRDVD connected to a Samsung TV LN52B630.
I have it connected through HDMI using the HDMI Auto option in the display settings. Playing Blu-ray discs is perfect, it plays in 1080p 24hz, no problem. The Netflix movies look great and I have no problem there either. However, when I tried for the first time the other day to play a DVD disc, as soon as the disc started the TV lost its signal. Its as if the player is not upscaling the DVD to 1080p (which I thought it was supposed to do) and the TV doesnt switch to a lower resolution. I really dont know exactly what is happening.
I connected the player with component and everything was fine (using 1080i or 720p), then I left the display resolution in the settings to 1080i, switch back to HDMI and blu-ray, Netflix and DVD played fine. So there's something to do with 1080p and the DVD's, the Auto HDMI is not working right, for some reason. Although the weirdest part is that, not only blu-ray plays fine with Auto HDMI, but also the Netflix feature, so why is the DVD the only one not sending signal through HDMI when it is in auto mode?

it may be that you have it set for bluray using the 24fps, its possible that since the dvd doesnt play at that rate its now changing it automatically to 60fps, try disabling the 24 and see what happens using 1080p
