I received a refurbished NS-WBRDVD2 today and installed the latest firmware update via Wi-Fi. Then I tried installing an older firmware update and get the following message every time:
"Please remove the update device from slot.
or Please select Ok to continue.
Update result: Failed, due to Internal Error (12000)
A Software Update is about to finish.
Please do not power off your player until it's finished."
I've read through several posts from users that had the same issue and tried the resolutions, but they don't work for me. I've done the following:
-installation guide
-turned the power off first, plugged it in, then turned it on
-re-formatted the USB to FAT32
-power-cycled the unit
-different ISO files that were confirmed to work
-made sure the USB had nothing else on it (I'm on a Macbook Pro)
-different USB
-factory reset
When I plug in the USB back to my computer I see it has created 2 files that weren't there when I copied and pasted the ISO file.
Please help me before I destroy the player!

Based on the advice of users on a Blu-ray forum, I used a PC and downloaded the firmware directly to the USB. It worked after that. Thank you.
