Blu-ray and DVD Players/Recorders

After playing a DVD disk My player will not play a Blu-Ray disk.  After trying to load I get the error message - No Disk.  I have connected the player to the internet and downloaded the latest firmware up date (PKG_DVD_2_1_109_RC_E_24.  Still no luck.  It will play a DVD but will not load a Blu-Ray disk.  Also the info for this player states it will only play region A disks but there is no globe on the back of the package indicating which one.  The disk is Transformers "Dark of the Moon.  Any help would be appreciated

Just to verify, will the player not player Blurays only following playing a DVD or will it not play Bluray discs at all?

The player would not play Blu Ray before the update or after.  The player will play any DVD but will not play any Blu Ray even ones that played before.

Hello John66,

This is likely due to the fact that there are two lasers in the player, one for CD/DVDs and one for Blu-ray discs. The laser responsible for reading Blu-rays is likely experiencing issues and is the reason why the player is not playing those discs. I would suggest taking the player, along with the receipt, to the place of purchase to obtain service. The NS-BRDVD3 has a one year warranty from the date of purchase.

Thanks I'll see if I can find the receipt but I think it's over a year old
