Blu-ray and DVD Players/Recorders

Hello I have an insignia blue ray player model NS 2brdvd, I tried for the first time today to update it by burning the program onto a cd and putting in the blue ray. I thought it was working but it said that my cd was corrupt and could not go further. I've tried a couple times now with different cds and the same thing is coming up! What am I doing wrong?????????

For updating with a CD, make sure that the uncompressed files are burned at the root level; they should not be the folder that results after unzipping.  If you have already done this, try completing the update via USB flash drive.  Be sure that the flash drive is formatted FAT32 and that there are no other files on it when you attempt the update.  Let us know your results!
