My Brdvd4 player won't turn on anymore. It just flashes the blue light nonstop. I turned off for 2 days and it started working again for 2 days. Then the netflix screen froze, I shut it off and when I turned it back on, nothing. just that blue flashing light again. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I mailed the company through the site, but still no response.

Try power-cycling the player by unplugging it for several minutes. If the problem persists, please carry the unit in to the place of purchase along with your sales receipt (for warranty validation) to pursue service options.

I am having the same issue. I bought my player in early March. I primarily use it for Netflix streaming. Everything has been working great until yesterday. I tried to power up the player and all that happens is the blue power light flashes, Hello is displayed for a few seconds, then goes blank, then says Hello again. It just keeps repeating this. I have the latest firmware installed - the player automatically installed it when I set up the wi-fi connection in March. I decided to try re-installing the firmware manually by downloading to a thumb drive. However, the player will not power up far enough to recognize the thumb drive.

John at insignia, I wish it was that simple. It was a gift, no receipt. Best buy will not help me with it. I already approached them. I turned it off for a few hours and turned it back on- still flashing. I unplugged all the cords, let it sit for 2 days, turned it back on- still flashing. Major bummer no one will help me.

You mentioned that the player was working previously, was there anything memorable that changed with the device before it stopped working (changed any settings, installed firmware, electrical storm)? With some more information I can relay this on to our engineering team to attempt to find a solution for you.

I have had the same problem for quite some time now. Every once in a while I am able to get the device to power on. It's like winning the lottery when that happens. This is by FAR the poorest quality electronic component I have ever purchased. I've had it far too long to return it so I guess I am just going to have to bite the bullet and purchase a new blu-ray player that is of higher quality (which will be VERY easy to do.)
It sure would be nice if someone over at Insignia could provide a reasonable resolution to this issue though.

If you haven't already, try power-cycling the player by turning it off and unplugging it for at least an hour. If possible, restore the player to factory defaults via the on screen menu. If the problem persists after these steps, the player will likely require repairs. Service can be obtained by carrying the unit in to the place of purchase. Remember to bring along your original receipt for validation of the one-year warranty.

^ these are the kind of answers that are completely useless. Everyone knows how to bring a unit back to the store, we get on here to ask and search for how to fix the problem. As in what is actually wrong... Power supply failure, blown fuse, blown capacitor? if your firm cannot answer this question, do not even reply
