I received this blue ray player as a Christmas gift, I hooked it up and it worked for about 10 minutes and quit. It now has a flashing blue light when you power it on and does nothing else. I called the 1-800 number and went through the whole troubleshooting procedure to be told my player was "bricked" in other words junk. I returned it to best buy and was told that it was an old discontinued model and there was nothing they could do even though I just received it a few days ago. The people at best buy were rude to say the least and I'm very disappointed with the whole insignia brand. I have just purchased a 50 inch insignia TV and now I'm Leary of keeping it....Will I have the same problem if it fails? Why is it that best buy or insignia don't offer repairs to their products? I am very unhappy and don't think I would ever buy or recommend insignia again.

Hello mwsaasafety,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
What specific problem did you encounter with the player? Were there any error messages? How were you using the player when it stopped working? The more information you can provide about the problem, the better the assistance we can offer.
About your experience at Best Buy: you should not have encountered problems seeking service for your player as long as you had a receipt for it. I understand that you received the player as a gift, but for warranty service (or an exchange under Best Buy's return policy) a receipt is required. What information did the store associates provide for their refusal to assist?
For your TV, as long as your retain your receipt in a safe place, you should not encounter any problem should service be necessary during the term of the two-year warranty.
Regards,
John
