Before trying anything else, power-cycle your player by turning it off and unplugging it for several minutes. For some players, this step completed the installation cycle. If needed afterwards, you can find the current and previous firmware updates here.

I di this, before my posting and even left it for over 6 hours out in the cold. I took it into BB and they looked at it and I was 2 days away from warranty expiration. They gave me a D3 for a $20 charge.
I hope this one has better luck with FW. I guess I have 12 months to let you know.
