• The LCD turns off after a period of inactivity. Press any key to turn the LCD screen back on.

The camera does not respond when a button is pressed.

• The camera may have turned off. Press the POWER button to turn the camera ON.
• Is the camera connected to a computer?
  - If yes, most of the camera buttons do not respond when the camera is connected to the computer.
• The batteries may be dead. Replace the dead ones with 2 new AA batteries.
• The camera may still be saving the last picture. Wait until the Power Indicator light is solid green. This indicates that the camera has finished processing the last picture taken.
• Make sure you are using an SD or SDHC memory card in your camera.
  - If you are using an incorrect or corrupt memory card you camera may not function correctly.

To determine if your memory card is corrupt:

1. Turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
2. Turn the camera on and try to use the buttons.

• If the buttons work, the memory card is corrupted and needs to be replaced.

How do I reset the camera?

• This will reset the entire menu and button operations to initial default settings. It will not change the date & time, language, TV Out, or battery type.
• To reset the camera:

1. Turn the camera ON.
2. Press the Playback button to switch to playback mode.
3. Press the MENU button, then press ▲, ▼, ◄ or ► to select Setup .
4. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Reset All. Then press ► to enter the Reset All menu.
5. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Yes.
6. Press the Set/Disp button to reset the camera.
7. Press MENU to exit.

The power light is on, but the camera will not work.

• The camera may have experienced a temporary problem.
  - Turn the camera OFF then turn it back ON.
• You may need to reset your camera.

To reset the camera:

1. Turn the camera ON.
2. Press the Playback button to switch to playback mode.
3. Press the MENU button, then press ▲, ▼, ◄ or ►to select Setup.
4. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Reset All. Then press ► to enter the Reset All menu.
5. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Yes.
6. Press the Set/Disp button to reset the camera.
7. Press MENU to exit.

• The memory card may not be formatted correctly or may be corrupt.

To determine if the card is an issue:

1. Turn the camera OFF and remove the memory card.
2. Turn the camera ON and try to use the buttons.

• If the buttons work, the memory card may not be formatted correctly or is corrupt and needs to be replaced.

Try reformatting the memory card:

1. Turn the camera ON.
2. Press the Playback button to switch to playback mode.
3. Press the MENU button, then press ▲, ▼, ◄ or ► to select Setup .
4. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Format. Then press ► to enter the Format menu.
5. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Yes.
6. Press the Set Disp button to format the memory card.
7. Press MENU to exit.

• If the camera still does not work after formatting the memory card, the memory card is corrupt and needs to be replaced.

There is a long delay between pressing the Shutter button and a picture being taken.

There is a long delay between pressing the Shutter button and a picture being taken.

• The camera may still be saving the last picture. Wait until the Power Indicator light is solid green. This indicates that the camera has finished processing the last picture taken.
• The flash may be set to Red-eye reduction.
  - The flash will strobe to let the subject’s eyes adjust to the flash, then fires again to take the actual image.
  - The shutter will be delayed because of the additional time needed for the multiple flashes.

The camera is slow when trying to review photos.

• The camera may still be processing an image. Wait until the Power Indicator light is solid green.
• The memory card may be responsible.
 - Some memory cards are slow, especially if it is near capacity. Try removing some of the photos from the card.

To transfer photos from the camera to a computer:

Windows XP, Windows Vista:

1. Connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
2. Turn the camera ON. The LCD monitor turns off when the connection is successful.
3. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer on your computer.
4. A new “Removable Disk” appears in the drive list.
5. Double-click Removable Disk to view the contents. Your pictures are located in the folder named DCIM.
6. Select all of the photos. Copy and paste them to the desired location on your computer.

Mac OS:

1. Connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
2. Turn the camera ON. The LCD monitor turns off when the connection is successful.
3.  Double-click the new “Removable” drive appears on the desktop to view the contents. Your pictures are located in the folder DCIM.
4. Select all of the photos. Copy and paste them to the desired location on your computer.

• You may also remove the SD card and use a card reader to transfer your photos.

To delete photos off of the memory card:

1. Turn the camera ON.
2. Press the Playback button to switch to playback mode.
4. Press the MENU button, then press ▲, ▼, ◄ or ► to select Delete .
5. Press ▲ or ▼ to select All or Single, then press SET to confirm.
6. Press SET again to delete all photos or the single photo.
7. Press MENU to exit.

How do I adjust the resolution on my camera?

1. Turn the camera ON.
2. Press the MENU button, then press , or to select Resolution, the red icon.
3. Press or to choose:

  • 7M: 3072 x 2304
  • 3:2: 3072 x 2048
  • 16:9: 3072 x 1728
  • 5M: 2560 x 1920
  • 3M: 2048 x 1536
  • 1M: 1024 x 768
  • VGA: 640 x 480

4. Press the Set Disp button to select a resolution
5. Press MENU to exit.
