Just received this unit.  .can i store photos in it or do i have to alawys have it hooked to y camera or install the camera chip?

how would i download photos if it can accept it?

You can certainly copy photos to the Photo Frame's internal storage. You can find detailed instructions for copying photos in the User Manual.
