NS-CNV43 Connecting to Computer

I bought this GPS and the box states that this device is software and connectable to a computer. The only way this device seems to connect to a PC is through the pay service of emailing map locations from Google Maps. Is there a software disk missing from the box or did I miss understand the specifications.

Re: NS-CNV43 Connecting to Computer

I just got this GPS last week.  I got a USB cord with my purchase it was in the box.  Iyou can use the USB cord to connect the GPS to a PC.  I haven't done this yet but looks like it is possible.

Hello colulus,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

For this device, the USB port is for the car DC power adapter.  More details can be found in the owner's manual.

If the usb port is only for the dc adapter, then why include a usb cable with the product?

Re: NS-CNV43 Connecting to Computer

So, if I understand this correctly. The USB port on the Device is for chargeing purposes only. The USB cable that came in the box is to charge the device off a USB port on a computer. The ability to connect the device to a computer is through the wireless prepaid service to add favorite locations. And the map and operating system updates are completed by removing the Micro SD Card and placing it into a media reader on a computer. The blue tooth is only for making voice calls through a cell phone with no data access.

This is not what I was told by the BestBuy associate when I purchased it. He told me that the device connects to a computer through the USB port and a cable.

Not only for charging. Why can't you give as a conectivity soft. Is it prohibited?
