Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

I got the drivers installed fine.

The headphone device control panel says connected.

However I can't get any sound out of the headphones.

Suggestions?

Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

I am also one of the many people that seems to be having issues with this. I an running a win7 pro machine and when I go to download the driver/software there is NO option for win7. I see win XP 32/64 bit  then win 8,10 32/64 bit  but no win 7. can anyone either give me a good addresss or just email me a driver? if not like alot of other people I will be returning this to best buy.

Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

this page does not have a driver to down load only an instruction manual. I also have tried all the steps you litsed and to no effect. Windows update says there are no drivers for this device in their data base

Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

I just follow your link and the driver isn't there.  And on Broadcom site there are drivers for Windows XP (!?!), 8, 8.1 and 10 but not for windows 7.

I look for the driver for windows 7.

Thanks

Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

I was having the exact same problems installing a driver for windows 7 and I found this forum online.  I did manage to get my Insignia's NS-PCY5BMA dongle to work by downloading the driver from another vendor's website.  It is quite amazing to me that Insignia's support is this terrible that they can not host their own driver on their own webpage. Instead they rely on Broadcom's support site.

I almost hesitate to put the link up, as overall the other vendor has a 100x better support site and people should just buy their product in the future.  However, I want to be able to help out anyone who did buy this Insignia device and is trying to get it to work under Windows 7.

I found the windows 7 driver under the plugable site.  Based on the form factor and the features, I'd bet both devices are using the same broadcom chipset inside.  I installed this link and my dongle started working and I was able to get my bluetooth serial port (all I needed) working.

I hope this helps anyone else struggling with finding the right driver for their device.

Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

INSIGNIA support - it is completely ridiculous that you are allowing this amount of community reqeusts to go unaccounted for.

Customers should NEVER be needing to go to a 3rd party driver site, unless and until YOU have verified the veracity of the download offered.  Better yet... GO UPDATE YOUR DRIVER section of this product yourself, and make a verified link available for the download of drivers.

Absolutely shameful and ridiculous.

Community -> this forum entry from mgriffizl is valid.

Use this method as it relies only upon "WQH" driver from Broadcom.

Re: Bluetooth adapter NS-PCY5BMA driver installation difficulties

I was able to RESOLVE this issue (exact same as everyone elses Failed Validation / failed to update software)

By doing the following:
This will work with probably about every version of windows from 7-10. I did this one windows 10 and nothing else.

1: Go to Device Manager (this can be done by left clicking on most start buttons. including 7/8.1/10)
2: Plug in USB Bluetooth Device

3: Check Device Manager and look for your bluetooth device, which should come up as BCM20XXXXX (BCM20702A0) (the X's will be different depending on your exact model but it is not important, what is important, is that you find the proper device. The device should pop up as soon as you plug it in and you will see display manager flicker and it will repopulate its listing. you will probably see a yellow mark on the icon telling you something is wrong, which is correct. )
4: Right Click on the BCM20702A0 in device manager and click on "update driver software"
5: Select Browse my computer for updates,
6: Select "Let me pick from a list of Device Drivers"
7: Select "Broadcom" on the left list of manufactures.
8Smiley Frustratedelect "BCM2033 Single".. Driver on the right.

9: Click Install
Reboot

This will allow you to use your NS-PCY5BMA On windows 10 using the default windows bluetooth interface utilizing the BCM2035 Driver which appears to be compatible, as I have been using it the past few hours without issues for my PS4 controller and headset.
