I am using a desktop computer (Windows 7 operating system) and a ViewSonic monitor with built-in speakers. I have connected the Insignia NS-PCS20 speakers, but they produce no sound. What do I need to do to fix this?
Thank you for your assistance.

Welcome to Community@Inisgnia™!
This speakers are connected through a mini plug connection that should be plugged to the speakers' out of your sound card (usually color coded as a green jack, but you should check on your card's manual). I assume this connection is being used by the monitor's speakers so you should either unplug them and plug the Insignia ones or get a splitter to plug both.
Once that is done, you will need to plug our device to the power outlet and turn them on (with the power button located on the front right), and check the master volume control (on the front left). Other than that, no additional setup should be done, so if you are still getting no sound, check the speakers with another audio source (such as an mp3 player) to make sure they are not defective.

Thank you for the instructions. I did as you suggested and still no sound. My control Panel shows only Realtek speakers. I haven't been able to figure out how to make the Insignia speakers show up on the device list. I am using Windows 7 operating system, is it possible I can't use these speakers with that system?

Eureka! I have found it! After following your instructions, I went to the troubleshooter for Windows in the help menu and scanned the devices. Amazingly, the troubleshooter found the problem and fixed it and now the speakers work. Thank you for your instructions. I had both set of speakers installed and that confused the computer (and me.)
Thank you for your help!
