Re: Insignia NS-15MS08 Drivers?

Thanks to everyone for participating in this forum. Posting the drivers has been especially helpful.  I have everything working now on my insignia (after upgrading to windows 10) except for the wacky touchscreen x/y reversal.  I have even tried editing the file myself (in admin mode) but nothing worked. I swapped the x and y resolution, changed the config settings, etc. Has anyone figured out how to correct the touchsetting.gt file?

Re: Insignia NS-15MS08 Drivers?

Windows on this tablet is basically a lost cause for me, mostly due to the 16gb storage and persistent problems with WiFi. How is Linux on it?

Tried to find a suitable linux install for it, but decided not to try it after seeing all of the negatives about running linux on a tablet. Basically it was considered a bad idea due to lack of support for the hardware on tablets.

As it is, I still haven't found the correct touchscreen fix.

Just so you know, the problem with sounc is caused by a conflict between the Intel and Realtek drivers. I had to reinstall Intel SST Audio Device (WDM) from the Insignia driver repository given in an earlier post.here. after that sound works again. After re-reading posts, I see that I should have ran batch file again after reinstalling drivers,

I'll post results.

Hi!

Can you please reupload the file for activate the home button ??

Thanks in advance!

The home button is activated in the touchsetting.gt file which has been one of the major problems noted throughout this thread. The version of this file that I have doesn't work properly because of xy axis reversal, but the home button does work properly

The file is called touchsetting.gt and it is located at c:\windows\INF\touchsetting.gt

It is a text file, and you can edit it in notepad if you open a command prompt as an administrator and type:

notepad C:\Windows\INF\TouchSetting.gt

notepad

It contains the following:

I have everything working but the xy axis is reversed still. If I ever get that fixed, I can post the solution in this thread. Good luck.

Re: Insignia NS-15MS08 Drivers?

I managed to get the orientation correct, but the touchscreen size/placement is still off.

Here is how the Touchsetting.gt file should look for proper orientation. Again, I am still working on the size/placement.

[Setting]
;UpdateCFG=0
SendCFG=1 ;Send CFG to touch IC when loading driver
SleepDisable=0
PhysicalXsize=1215 ;Physical size£¬the unit is 0.1mm
PhysicalYsize=1620
[Support]
ESD=1 ;Driver supports ESD recovery processing
;SensorID=0 ;According to the different SensorID send different configuration
GtpTool=0 ;GuitarTestPlateform tool support
X2X=1
Y2Y=0
X2Y=1
Log=0
Flashless=0
ICType=GT910
PrtScreen=0
CtrlAltDel=0
HomeKeyTouchTime=3
VolumeKeyEnable=0
[Feature]
Pen=0 ;stylus/pen support
NumberOfKey=1 ;The total number of keys supported,equal to 0 does not support key
Key1=0xe3 ;0xe3 is home key,Must be a hexadecimal number
Key2=
Key3=
Key4=
[CFG]
DefaultCFG=0x00,0x20,0x03,0x00,0x05,0x0A,0x35,0x21,0x01,0xC8,0x1E,0x0A,0x5A,0x3C,0x03,0x05,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x19,0x1D,0x14,0x8F,0x2F,0x99,0x2C,0x2E,0x12,0x0C,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x03,0x1D,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x1A,0x4C,0x94,0xC5,0x02,0x08,0x00,0x00,0x04,0xAE,0x1D,0x00,0x93,0x24,0x00,0x80,0x2C,0x00,0x6F,0x37,0x00,0x63,0x44,0x00,0x63,0x50,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xF0,0x50,0x40,0xFF,0xFF,0x19,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x10,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x04,0x05,0x06,0x07,0x08,0x09,0x0C,0x0D,0x0E,0x0F,0x10,0x11,0x14,0x15,0x16,0x17,0xFF,0xFF,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x29,0x28,0x27,0x26,0x25,0x24,0x23,0x22,0x21,0x20,0x1F,0x1E,0x1C,0x1B,0x19,0x14,0x13,0x12,0x11,0x10,0x0F,0x0D,0x0C,0x0A,0x08,0x07,0x06,0x04,0x02,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x82,0x01

Re: Insignia NS-15MS08 Drivers?

My tablet is slightly different ( NS-15MS0832B-10-C), however, this might work too, I did a clean install of Windows 10 Creator's update and I used the Goodix touch driver from HP website, intended for HP Stream 8 tablet. The touch is reversed, however, i replaced the TouchSetting.gt file with yours (the original file you posted here) and it worked like a charm. In fact, I typed this reply using my tablet.

I also used the intel chipset driver for HP Stream 8 and it worked too. The only drivers i used from this forum are the BMA 2X2 Accelerator driver and the TouchSetting.gt file.

Re: Insignia NS-15MS08 Drivers?

My dilemma is that Windows 10 did an update and messed up my audio drivers.  In order to get sound, I had to install a USB sound device.  I have tried many, many updates to no avail...the last one gave me a "Driver overran buffer" message and crashed my device big time!  Your link to the drivers page has expired and I really need the sound drivers.  Something is really corrupt in my system and I cannot revert the system.  Incidentally, letting Windows update the driver is not an option...It is what crashed the system in the first place!  Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Insignia NS-15MS08 Drivers?

Here's the touchsetting.gt file: touchsetting.gt

And here's the link to all the drivers and so forth: Shared OneDrive link with everything in it.

Hope it helps everyone.  I still have not fixed mine.  Something is goofy still.  I got the orientation correct following uranimal12's post and changing the touchsetting.gt file like so:

X2X=1
Y2Y=0
X2Y=1

But I still have something wrong, because it doesn't register my touch position correctly.
