Hello,
I purchased the NS-PCS20 2 piece speakers for use with my PC. I have a Windows PC with XP operating system. My monitor is Samsung 2333T. I recently updated the driver for the monitor, thinking that driver was the problem. I can get system sounds, but I can't get a music CD to play, nor can I receive to sound from say Youtube videos. Yes, my volume is turned up on the speakers. The speakers are "plugged" into the back of my computer tower, green to green. The blue light on the speakers is lit when the power button is pressed.
Interesting, however, when I go into Control Panel, then Sound, Speech, Audio Devices, and then Audio Devices, under Hardware it states "No Audio Devices". When I right click on the volume on my monitor, to Open Volume Control, a window pops up telling me to go to Printers and Other Hardware and to click Add Hardware. I did this, but nowhere does it list "Insignia audio device" or state new device added. I thought these speakers were plug and play devices? I could use your help in solving this problem.
Thank you,

Hello GUA11,
It is likely that either the speakers are in need of repair, or that the sound card in your computer is not functioning properly. I would suggest plugging a pair of headphones into the jack that you currently have the speakers plugged in. This will allow you to determine if there is simply no audio coming from the sound card, or if there is audio and the speakers are not playing it. If the computer is showing that there are no audio devices installed, it is most likely that there is an issue with your sound card, but this is an easy way to test it.
Once you can establish where issue is originating from, then you can take the proper steps to resolve it. If it is the speakers, I would suggest taking them, along with the receipt, to the place of purchase to obtain service; the NS-PCS20 has a one year warranty from the date of purchase. If it is the computer then I would do one of two things, either contact your computer manufacturer, or take your computer to your local Geek Squad.
