Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
At this point you are following the correct steps, but the tablets have a default message loaded that causes confusion. The message that you are getting does not word it correctly, but is essentially saying "No update available." At this point we are expecting a update to become available, but I do not have a timeframe for when that will happen. I apologize for the confusion caused by the incorrectly worded default message, but once a update is available the tablet will show a pop up message informing you of that.

When the time comes, notify me by email when the next update for the tablet (NS-P16AT08, 5.0.1[Android Lollipop, Build #LRX21M) will launch and what type it will be (Insignia Products software update, Android upgrade, or both). Thank you.

Thank you for the info I can accept that. I would like to be more specific though. The message I receive when I try to update is "Update failed, please check your network" then after exiting the updated screen the screen goes dark and I get a system message "Unfortunately, update has stopped". It's hard to believe it sure SEEMS like a error and a crash, but I'm not blinded by my frustration if he says that i can go with it. (Also though, neither of the two people I spoke with told me that...)

I am able to click on Update and get to a white on black screen that announces NS-P16AT08 firmware VO1.00.04 to LRX21M. When I click on download it reports being downloaded and requests that I click to update and then it fails.

Alfred from Insignia said you can do one or both of the two. Options. #1 didn't work for me. I ran into the same situation.
#1 Reset your tablet
#2 Go to your nearest Best buy and look for the Geek Squad center. Like I said, I recommend doing #2 because #1 never worked.
