My NS-PCS40 speakers don't seam to be working at all. When I plug the speakers' power cord into the socket, the speakers regardless of whether the power button has been pressed or not emit a steady thumping heartbeat noise. When I press the power button the blue LED light does not come on, but the noise continues as if the speakers are being repeatedly plugged in and plugged out.
Other electronics work fine on that particular wall socket, so the problem might be with the speakers themselves. Other than that I am at a loss for what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.

I have my Insignia speakers hooked up to a standard power strip (General Electric) and am attempting to use it with a Sony Vaiou Computer with Windows 7 installed on it. I should note that I got these speakers back in September and they have worked perfectly up until this point. It was only until recently that I encountered this problem.
I do not receive any error messages when I plug in the speakers, and the heartbeat-like noise continues regardless of if the speakers are plugged in to the computer or if the power button is in the on or off position.

Hello again Delojin,
One last question: you said the problem began recently. Did you make any changes to your system around the time the problem began? If so, details of those changes will help in our research.

John

I changed nothing in regards to my system besides the most current security updates for Windows 7. My computer is pretty much the same as when I first bought and used the speakers.

Hello Delojin,
As you are getting the "Heartbeat-like" noise either when the speakers are connected to the PC or not, and even more turn on or not, it would seem to be a physical inconvenience with them. So, I strongly recommend you to take the whole unit to the place of purchase, along with the receipt of purchase to validate the 1 year factory warranty.
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!
Thank you,
Guille

Thank you for the advice. I will probably be able to return it soon, sad that the problem couldn't be fixed.
Thank you,
Delojin
