Question 10: Why does my DVD lose its place when I pause?

  • If you press Stop button.jpg (STOP) twice, the resume information is erased.
  • After 10 minutes of inactivity, your DVD player automatically switches to standby mode to conserve power. Press Power-Symbol.jpg (Standby/On) on the front of your DVD player to resume.
  • If your DVD player switches to standby mode unexpectedly, a safety device may have been activated. Press Power-Symbol.jpg (Standby/On) on the front of your DVD player to resume.
  • Some discs do not support the resume function.

Question 11: What should I do if my disc pauses, skips, or freezes?

  • Make sure that your disc is not dirty or scratched.
  • Audio and video may pause momentarily when your DVD player is changing chapters in the playlist.
  • If a disc is recorded on dual layers, the audio and video may pause momentarily when your DVD player is changing layers.
  • Reset your DVD player. See Question 19 for instructions.
  • If your disc continues to freeze, the disc may contain some content that is not compatible with your DVD player.

Question 14: What should I do if my remote control is not working correctly?

  • If you are using your remote control for the first time, make sure that you removed the plastic sheet that covers the battery.
  • Make sure that you point your remote control directly at the sensor on the front of your DVD player.
  • Make sure that there are no obstructions between the remote control sensor and the front of your DVD player (including furniture or colored glass).
  • Make sure that the remote control sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight or bright light. This can interfere with reception.
  • Change the remote control batteries. See Question 15 for instructions.

If you are using the NS-D150A13 DVD player:

  1. Press and hold the battery tray release tab while you pull the battery tray out of the remote control.

  2. Remove the old battery, then insert a new CR2025 battery into the battery tray. Make sure that the + symbol on the battery faces up.

If you are using the NS-D160A14 DVD player:

  1. Press and hold the battery cover tab and pull the battery cover out of the remote control.

  2. Remove the old battery, then insert a new AAA battery into the battery tray. Make sure that the + symbol on the battery faces the direction indicated in the tray.

  • No. You must use a remote control to access your DVD player settings.

If you have the NS-D150A13 DVD player:

  1. Press SETUP. The on-screen menu opens.
  2. Press ▲ or ▼ to select Default Settings, then press OK.
  3. Press ► to highlight Defaults, press ► to select Reset, then press OK.

 

If you have the NS-D160A14 DVD player:

  1. Press SETUP. The on-screen menu opens.
  2. Press ▲ or ▼ to select RESET.
  3. Press ENTER to highlight RESTORE, then press ENTER.
