12: The player will not play a disc.

[ Edited ]

  • Make sure there is a disc in the player.
  • Make sure the disc is loaded in the tray label side up.
  • Make sure the DVD is not too scratched or dirty.
    • You can try to clean the DVD by spraying it with window cleaner and wiping with a soft cloth.
  • If moisture has condensed in the player, turn off the player and leave the screen up in the open position and the DVD tray open.  Keep it in a dry area that is away from anything that may come in contact with the optical lens.
    • If the error message says, “No Disc” – the data type on the CD or DVD may not be compatible with the player.
    • If you are trying to play a burned DVD, it is possible that the burned disc is not compatible with the DVD player.
    • This DVD player does not play Blu-Ray DVDs.
    • Try playing another CD or DVD (not a recordable DVD or CD).
  • If multiple discs do not work, return this portable DVD player to the store with your receipt.

    • Is there an error message appearing on the screen?
