i tried to program the remote to control the sound bar and it does not respond.  i have a ns-l42q120-10a tv.

Should I be able to use this to control the sound bar?   Can I have the power on the remote turn on the sound bar at the same time as tv? Without selecting aux button.

The remote for the NS-L42Q120-10A will in fact control the NS-SBAR. In order to control the NS-SBAR with the TV remote, you will need to use the "Learning" feature of the remote. To use the learning feature, please follow these steps:

1. Press the "Aux" button on the TV remote.
2. Press and hold the "Set" button on the TV remote until the LED blinks twice.
3. Press 9 7 5, again the LED will blink twice.
4. Press the "Power" button on the TV remote, the LED will light solid.
5. Press and hold the "Power" button on the soundbar remote until the LED on the TV remote blinks twice. This indicates that the TV remote has learned the code.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the "VOL+" and "VOL-" buttons.
7. Press and hold "Set" on the TV remote until the LED blinks twice, this indicates that the codes have been saved.

After following these steps, you will be able to press the "Aux" button on the TV remote, then use the power button to turn the soundbar on and off, as well as the volume buttons to adjust the volume levels.
