Soundbar multiple inputs

Recently purchased an Insignia tv and received the Insignia blue ray player plus the Insignia soundbar.

I currently have the soundbar hooked up to the tv using rca cords to connect from the satellite reciever straight to the powerbar.

My question is - how do I connect both the tv and the dvd/blue ray player to the soundbar?

Are there multiple inputs that I am not seeing?

I have the NS-SPAR- A soundbar and the NS-WBRDVD3    DVD player.

The tv is model NS-46E790A1

Thanks for you help.

Hello Isis_Agent,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

Your sound bar is designed to be connected to the audio output on your TV. The Blu-ray player would also be connected directly to your TV by HDMI, component, or composite input (HDMI is best). The audio would then play through the sound bar. You can find details on these connections in the TV owner's manual beginning on page 18.

Re: Soundbar multiple inputs

Hello.

I also recently made this purchase. I followed the previous instructions in reviewing the manual starting at page 18. This was not helpful in solving the problem.

Isignia Tv and Sound Bar + cable box and blue ray.

Cable box and blue ray are both connected with HDMI.
INcontrol cable is in place, but i still cannot figure out how to get sound from both devices.

Suggestions?

Hello KYZ53XOTOM,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

We'll be happy to look into your question if you'll please confirm your TV model number! Also, the brand and model numbers of your cable box and Blu-ray player would be helpful.

Re: Soundbar multiple inputs

Hi John,

Thank you for your quick response. The part numbers are below.

Insignia 46led. NS-46E790A12
insignia blue ray. NS-WBRDVD3
Insignia sound bar. NS-SBAR-A
Cable box. Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4240hdc

Again, to confirm, im tryimg to figure out how to get the blue ray and cable sound to go through the sound bar without having to change cables each time.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Soundbar multiple inputs

Hello YZ53XOTOM,

To connect the TV to the soundbar, make sure that you have both the INcontrol cable and the audio y-cable connected. For a diagram of what cables should be used in which ports, check out the diagram on page 18 of the manual located here. If you have any further issues after checking your connections, feel free to let me know.

Re: Soundbar multiple inputs

Zac,

Thanks for the info. I just happened to have a Y cable and it worked perfectly. However, the sound isnt near as good sounding as it was through the RCA cables. Is there an ideal setting i can adjust manually?
