As I sit here at my desk at home, all in one place I'm using my work laptop, my personal desktop, and a smartphone. Quite often, either I discover something or someone shares something with me that I want to share from a different device.
Rather than email, text, or IM myself, it would be quite convenient if there were a device to function like a clipboard between multiple connected devices via Bluetooth.
Imagine a pico-sized Bluetooth device that could be paired with all the devices that surround me. With supporting software that runs as a process on each device and interfaces with the firmware of the Bluetooth device, there could be a hot keystroke or even drag and drop functionality. Any paired devices in range can copy and cut to the device, and paste from it.
Sending an IM only sends the text. If you're running the same IM client on multiple devices, you could IM yourself the file, but just like cluttering email with attachments, you'll end up with a download folder full of files. I want to carry over formatting, share a PowerPoint slide from one presentation to another, and share files just as easy as I do within one device and operating system, but across several devices and operating systems.
