Re: More streaming content please!

Do some people not know what Boxee is?  My point is that Boxee encompasses most of the requests people are giving EXCEPT for Amazon.

Here's a list from the Boxee website (continually updated):

  • Apple Movie Trailers
  • BBC (iPlayer and Live)
  • CBS
  • CNN
  • Comedy Central
  • Hulu (feeds)
  • MTV
  • Netflix
  • The WB
  • Youtube
  • Blip.tv
  • Geek Brief tv
  • TED Talks
  • Songza
  • The Weather Channel
  • MLB.tv

Music

  • Last.fm
  • Pandora
  • Radiotime
  • Shoutcast
  • NPR
  • Jamendo
  • Tumblr

Photos

  • Flickr
  • Picasa
  • The Big Picture (Boston.com)
My point is that It covers Pandora and Hulu (which most people want to have integrated into their player).  PLUS, new services are added all the time.  AND, it seems that Boxee really wants to license out their product to 3rd parties like Insignia.

This seems like a no-brainer in terms of adding a lot of good content quickly.

Re: More streaming content please!

My primary desire is for Pandora.

Next would be Amazon Video, Hulu and YouTube.

Thanks for a good, reasonably priced product.

Re: More streaming content please!

I would like to see an increase of streaming content for the NS-WBRDVD as well as the ability to access photos and videos on my windows home server.

PANDORA and various music channels would be priority...

Re: More streaming content please!

I agree about Boxee - it would encompass most of the things people are looking for except Amazon.  Can Boxee be implemented as-is?   I might have waited for the new Boxee "box" that is coming out, but wanted a blu-ray player as well, so I chose the Insignia.

So:

Hulu,

Pandora,

Amazon

In addition to new streaming content, it would be fantastic if the interface for USB attached storage could be changed to include some visual representation and a short description - like Frontrow, Boxee, or Itunes.  This would make it much easier to search for attached movies/music.

Along those same lines (USB attached storage) - is it possible to change the 2000 file/folder limit?  The external drive with my music library won't even connect to the player, and I think it is because of the file limit.  Or maybe enable the player to connect through WiFi to a server that can stream the movies/music?

This is a great thread - thanks for listening to our input Insignia!

That's a great idea !! Being able to access a local network file share directory would be a real added plus to the device !!

Re: More streaming content please!

Definitely would appreciate more streaming capability.

I think the sky is the limit, and this player is a great starting point.

Please give firmware updates that include:

Pandora

Hulu

Youtube

Boxee

in that order.

Would be wonderful...thanks for the great product.
