Golf Bag GPS

by chauth1 on 04-26-2010 05:43 PM

I recently had my golf clubs (bag and all) stolen at out local clubhouse. I regret not using my 'Little Buddy' in my bag at the time.. But who knew.   Golf Club theft is up and yet not being reported. With Golf Equipment reaching $1500 - $2000 +  it is a case of grand theft.  My laptop was not that expensive!  My Idea would by to include a 'Little Buddy' golf bag tag.  Rechargeable in your car and hidden in your bag.  Sponsored by Nike or Ping or Callaway. Ect..   I know that I am going to include my 'Little Buddy GPS' in my bag every time I go out!

Bluetooth Clipboard

by Administrator on 06-26-2010 09:28 PM

As I sit here at my desk at home, all in one place I'm using my work laptop, my personal desktop, and a smartphone.  Quite often, either I discover something or someone shares something with me that I want to share from a different device.

Rather than email, text, or IM myself, it would be quite convenient if there were a device to function like a clipboard between multiple connected devices via Bluetooth.

Imagine a pico-sized Bluetooth device that could be paired with all the devices that surround me.  With supporting software that runs as a process on each device and interfaces with the firmware of the Bluetooth device, there could be a hot keystroke or even drag and drop functionality.  Any paired devices in range can copy and cut to the device, and paste from it.

Sending an IM only sends the text.  If you're running the same IM client on multiple devices, you could IM yourself the file, but just like cluttering email with attachments, you'll end up with a download folder full of files.  I want to carry over formatting, share a PowerPoint slide from one presentation to another, and share files just as easy as I do within one device and operating system, but across several devices and operating systems.

Little Buddy with panic button

by on 11-19-2009 01:11 PM

Forum user yigittezel posted this idea here and we'd like to know what you think!

My idea is about upgrading the GPS tracker.

From time to time upgrading could not be all the solutions , a simple panic button could be added to the device.

By this, medical help can be send to the exact coordinate also another advantage is that the medical team will know about the medical background of the patient.

Also this could be used for securty reasons, this time a securty team / Police could be send to the location.

Insignia NS-BRDVD3 firmware.

by ponteley on 06-06-2010 10:03 PM

Just updated firmware on my NS-BRDVD3.

"Pandora"  - looks good.

"Blank" Screen saver? to cool down GPU or what?'

I can see one BUG. :mansad: After POST - Network sign is crossed (disconnected) - even though it's connected and logs to Netflix right away.

Now, my idea is, right next to "Pandora" and "Netflix" , I'd like to see something like "My NAS" or "My Server"....etc.

I want to be able to enter IP of my NAS and credentials (login/password) once, so next time it'll log me in automatically to my NAS and look or supported files. Basically, I want to stream locally.

Hulu video streaming

by 232power on 12-21-2009 01:57 PM

Hulu video streaming for the Insignia™ Blu-ray Player (NS-BRDVD3 / NS-WBRDVD)

Hulu has becoming rapidly known for FREE online TV shows and movie streaming
most TV shows are available the day after it is air,  not even Netflix has access
or rights to stream the latest TV shows (or any popular Episodes), and Hulu as
it, I mean if Insignia plans to play ball with Web/Video streaming then Hulu
support should be (should have been) #1 on their list to support ..

http://www.hulu.com/

looking at how the Hulu site is setup I don’t know how you guys will add support
but, I would work something out with Hulu to add support in to your Insignia™
Blu-ray Player product line.

How about adding a button to the remote control so that you can switch back and forth from computer to input (HDMI 1) of your choice. That way I wouldn't hace to go into input and run down through the selections all the time to go from the computer to watching TV. My old monitor/TV had one button switching. You could use the recall button with programable options or add one more button between the volume and channel buttons. It sure would be a time saver.:smileyhappy:

One of the best shopping tools for digital camcorders like the ones that Insignia now makes is YouTube.  When answering consumer questions on camcorders, the first thing I do is to point them towards any sample YouTube videos made by that particular model.

One example is this sample made using your NS-DV1080P.

I'd like to see Insignia look into making their own sample videos in order to better show off the different features, including a 1080p, a slideshow of photos made using the camera, etc.

Bluetooth Virtual Clipboard

vampire power

by Thezo on 11-11-2009 07:55 AM
Insignia needs to design a way to eliminate vampire power in electronics.  Maybe if there were a battery that controlled a switch so when the remote activated the device it would close the circuit and turn the tv on.

USB Port on Blu-Ray NS-WBRDVD

by kellyjthibault on 12-02-2009 09:10 PM

Hey Guys...

It is great that you included a USB port so I can show my photos on HDTV.  However, next time you design a product, it would be better to put the port on the front of the machine.   Like most households, my entertainment system is up against the wall, making it difficult to access the port located in the back of the machine.

Thanks

Boom-box with HD Radio

by feedrigley on 08-05-2009 12:20 AM

I don't have an ipod.  I don't want one.  And I have no use for the myriad appliances that attach to them.  Go ahead and curse me, I don't care.

What I DO want is a good, old-fashioned, moderately sized, portable boom-box, with AM/FM reception, CD player, and HD Radio built in.  If it HAS to have an ipod interface, then fine, but also include a mini-plug input for devices other than ipods.  And halfway decent speakers would be nice, but not if they make the device huge and/or ugly.  Plus, a simple power cord, instead of a wall-wart transformer.

Radio shack almost got there with their tabletop HD radio, but it apparently was a technical nightmare and sounded awful.

That's my great idea.  How about it?  :smileywink:

Blue Ray DVD player ideas

by EDS1957 on 12-26-2009 06:30 AM

First, I have to say things have come a long way with what you can get on a DVD player. I like the Netflix option. The future is live streaming on your HDTV. With that in mind having a hard drive or being able to connect a USB storage drive would be great. Having the device manage your programs. I have Dish and it for example manages all the recordings and timers so I believe having this kind of management would be great. I am a truck driver so I would like to be able to have content on a portable hard drive that can be downloaded so I can play it when ever I like on the road. Internet connections on the road are not as fast or there are limits on how much can be downloaded so it puts a limit on using Netflix or any other service online. Clearly on demand programing is very popular because it meets busy schedules and the ability to watch what you want at any given time. Providers who don't get on board with this are going to loose business or go out of business.

I am thinking about buying a second player for my truck but want to see the features improve, along with the portability of bring content from home on the road.

I'm seeing more and more Internet connected GPS units, complete with Twitter and Facebook integration.  I'd like to see a feature in future connected GPS units that allows for automatic location updates every hour (or customized configuration) on your location that can be sent as a link to Twitter or Facebook, or maybe a website that can be viewed by friends and family.

This would make a great feature for road trips so that your friends and family can track your progress on those long drives for the holidays.

Battery Support

by techs4641 on 12-30-2009 05:10 PM

I have a pocket frame from Brookstone, and now an Insignia model...  Biggest problem is that they run out of power just when I want to show off the grandkids' pictures.   Best solution (for me) is to put a solar cell on the back side; lay the pixframe on its face at work or home when not in pocket.  That way it would probably never run out of power!

I think that would be definitely worth a couple of extra bucks.

We recently launched a new website!  It is very important to us that we meet our customer's needs with our online presence. How can we enhance the new website?

hey i got this crazy idea! what if you guys make a firmware update that disables overscan! man that would make my day! and heck, since everyone freakin hates overscan anyway maybe your tv's will get better reviews? hmmm i must be a genius or something.

lets review the options here:

1. Make firmware update that disables overscan = positive reviews and we recommend your tv's

-------_____OR______-------

2. dont make the firmware update = we all hate your tvs and will never buy them again

well the answer is obvious to me. But what do you all think? how about you insignia?
