In three days, you better be ready for some fútbol.
The 2010 World Cup starts group matches Friday with host country South Africa taking on Mexico at 10 a.m. EST, followed by France and Uruguay at 2:30 p.m. EST in Group A action.
Here’s just about everything you need to know about this year’s World Cup, from the San Jose Mercury News.
Of note, the broadcast schedule is as follows:
If you’re looking for an HDTV to watch the World Cup on, be sure the television has a 120Hz refresh rate or higher, like the Insignia Advanced Series 46” LED-LCD 1080p HDTV. This will give you the best picture for fast-moving action.
And if you’re reading this from LA or Miami, head over to your local Best Buy store this weekend and every weekend through the end of the tournament to get you picture taken in front of a green screen of a World Cup-themed background and have a chance to win a Sony Cybershot 10.2 megapixel digital camera. You can also go to CupisYours.com, and put yourself on a mock cover of ESPN the Magazine while holding the Cup itself.
Who are you pulling for in this year’s World Cup? Let us know below!
