Part of our cultural awareness these days is a rightful philosophy that we should leave the world better than the way we received it. Earth Day was inaugurated for that very reason: to inspire awareness and appreciation for our home world. So in an effort to make our planet a better place for our children and grandchildren, we do little yet very important things like drive better cars and recycle newspapers, glass and plastic.
Much has been made of the hazards that our modern conveniences pose to the environment, so retailers like Best Buy – our partner – offer recycling programs for outdated technology and products that we’ve elected to retire. Each Best Buy store alone accepts hundreds of pounds of old components every day!
So, while you’re out investing in a new HDTV and Blu-ray player – it’s tax refund season! – remember to be responsible with your old stuff. Move the old TV and DVD player to your family room if they still have life left in them. If they don’t though, be responsible and recycle them safely. Our sons and daughters will thank us for helping make their world a better place for their own children.
Thank you for reading.
