This Earth day, we bring you some hard numbers:
Fact #1:
According to ENERGY STAR, there are about 275 million TVs currently in use in the U.S., consuming over 50 billion kWh of energy each year – of four percent of all households’ electricity use. This is enough electricity to power all the home in the state of New York for an entire year.
Fact #2:
ENERGY STAR qualified TVs use about 30 percent less energy than standard units.
Here in San Diego we are constantly finding new ways to make our every day life more energy efficient. Most of the new television models we carry at Best Buy are energy efficient and meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Energy. The choice is out there, but do your part by making sure the next television you purchase is ENERGY STAR qualified.
Most Insignia TVs are ENERGY STAR qualified, like the 46” 1080p LED-LCD HDTV, which uses LED backlit lighting technology to not only power the television using significantly less energy than a standard LCD set, but also provide the television with a superior contrast ratio and an ultra-thin design (just look at that side view!). In fact, this television currently boasts a 4.6 out of 5 overall customer rating!
Additionally, you can fulfill your television's potential while using less energy as well with the Insignia WI-FI enabled Blu-ray player. Even while using less energy, it can upconvert DVDs, stream HD-quality movies from your Netflix account and even let you watch the newly released movie Avatar without feeling like you're helping fuel the search for unobtanium.
If you're looking to do the environment and your tech cravings good, Be sure to check out all the energy-efficient electronics on InsigniaProducts.com. Or you can drop by your local Best Buy store and talk to a Blue Shirt like me!
