Who makes Insignia products? Best Buy is not only a retailer, it’s a manufacturer. So the answer is simple: Best Buy makes Insignia products, carrying these products from the ideation period to the point of sale. We’ve been doing it since 2003, designing and manufacturing a wide portfolio of products for our exclusive brands, from portable and home audio to televisions. We want to take a moment to share a little bit about the energy and excitement we have for our products and highlight what our brands ultimately mean for you.

Here’s a great example: with the Insignia Soundbar, we bundled the latest audio technology into a sleek, contemporary frame. So for an unbeatable price, you’ll hear your favorite movies and sports with incredible, immersive sound coming from a single source.  All of that, plus it is simple to connect and looks great under your new flat panel TV. We also go the extra mile to add features that consumers tell us really matter, like Audyssey Dynamic Volume which eliminates spikes in volume levels and raises soft dialog. That means getting rid of loud commercials or watching a blockbuster action movie without waking the kids.

Let's see...there is a lot of forum activity with various ideas (computer line-up, new gaming system, comparable/better built items such as internet app streamer (i.e. Roku) + home network streaming (various units) in one set top item, plus others. What I and I think a lot of the users on this community would like to see are...what's going on with Insignia's development?  Exactly how are you listening to and implementing the suggestions of your customers, while you are incubating?  HD Radio...I don't know hardly anyone that really uses HD radio...but maybe it is the next big thing; although I think there is a reason it is the last portable one around and that Insignia may be a little behind the curve there. However, if that is what the customers want...then great.

So my question again, what is Insignia doing that is "game-changing"? Surely there is something there with all these customer ideas through this community and otherwise.  Where are the larger than life 3D TV's, 3D tablets (which no one has came out with yet...but sure to be a hit 2 years from now), or the do-everything (streaming, networking, astonishingly efficient [fast, no crash, maybe even Linux based w/ Windows emulation]) PC's...some out-of-the-box concepts provided through these forums, for which no one has heard a peep from Insignia?

Really, I appreciate the blog post above, but let's not only hear about older, more novel items, but about the new possiblitles (boom or bust) that Insignia/Best Buy is taking from the community and really working to implement (whether you all have got it together or not).  That's a big point of being in a community...opening up and sharing, right?!?!
