Caps, gowns and Pomp & Circumstance. It can mean only one thing – your son, daughter, brother, sister, niece or nephew is about to graduate! Whether they’re headed for college in the Fall or for an internship or job, parents and relatives can sometimes overlook the usefulness of technology for the recently graduated to help them in their next level of education or working life. Here are a few suggestions if you’re looking to give the gift of tech to your recently graduated:
- If they’re moving to a new city for school or work, a GPS device can be extremely helpful in navigating their new surroundings safely and effectively. Help them get to the grocery store, the Laundromat and wherever else they need to go. The Insignia Internet-connected GPS can even tweet their location so you can keep up with them even when they don’t call.
- Digital cameras are a great option for college freshmen so they can show their friends and family back home what their campus looks like, where they live and the new friends they meet. If you send them off with an Insignia 10.2 megapixel digital camera, you may even be able to zoom in and see their unfinished homework in the background.
- Alarm clocks are essential for recent college graduates who rely solely on a cell phone to wake them up in the morning. While it may have been ok to miss a morning class because your cell phone was set on silent, the battery died or you forget to take it out of your pants pocket or purse from the night before, bosses are not as forgiving as professors. The Insignia AM/FM Clock Radio with iPod dock will even let them wake up to their favorite MP3 songs. It’s even more appealing if you consider the alternative – your son or daughter getting fired for tardiness and moving back home.
