I just bought this Infocast 8" (NS-DP8CH) on eBay as an open box item, and I've been testing it out.  It works for awhile, and then it freezes.  I've been running it for three days and it has frozen at least once a day.  Any suggestions?

I bought two (one 3.5",  one 8") as Best Buy closed them out after the holidays, so I'm no exper, but I have seen the problem you describe on my 3.5" version (but not the 8" one).  It kept freezing when it got to a certain app, a clock.  It didn't ALWAYS freeze, but if I let it run for a day or so it would eventually lock up. I removed the app it froze up on from the rotation and the problem hasn't recurred.

You might have this same issue (and succeed with the same fix) if you find that it freezes doing similar things each time...

The Infocast freezes on either application in the channel.  I have Picasa Photo and NOAA Weather application.  The freezing happens as the app is being loaded.  None of the times the application was already loaded.

Hello Mark459,

Try resetting the Infocast to factory defaults. Hold a finger on the screen while booting the device, it will then have you recalibrate the screen and finally give the option to restore factory settings. Give this a try and let me know the result.

I've unregistered the unit (I guess it is de-activated it), reset the unit to factory settings and even attempted to reload the latest firmware using a USB stick.  After re-activating it, and choosing a different channel, the unit still freezes up.

Is there a secret handshake I can do to downgrade to the earlier firmware?

Any ideas?  I'm running out of time guys.  I'm gonna have to return this item to the seller, or I'll be stuck with it.
