Our TVs have a setting called "auto input sensing," which only allows the TV to select an input that it is receiving a signal to (except the TV input is always available). To be able to select a different input you have to make sure that your device is connected correctly and turned on.
What device are you trying to connect to the TV? What type of connections are you connecting this device with?
The "auto input sensing" setting can be turned off in the menu, but this will more than likely not fix the issue. The issue is probably that you are not receiving a signal so that is where to start.
