NS-MB15600 Portable Charger - shuts off - hmmmm

I own the NS-MB15600 Portable Charger. I use it to extend my time on my mobile phone through the day.

Often (90%+) when I plug it in to charge the device, it will only charge for a short while and stops charging. It takes me pushing the 'Battery Indicator Button' on the side to get it to resume charging - then it goes off again, push the button again, and so on...

I'd hate to rely on it to actually continuously charge while I am away from the device - and then come back to find my phone at the same battery level.

I would prefer that it be "Set it and Forget It" kind oif charger!!

Is this normal??

Hello vpomeroy,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

That is not how this device is designed to function. Do you know when and where you purchased this battery? Do you still have the receipt?

Hello vpomeroy,

Thank you for responding!

Yes, at this point the best resolution is to take the product and receipt into Best Buy. If you are within 15 days of purchase you can talk to customer service for return/exchange. If you are outside of that, you will need to speak with Geek Squad for warranty evaluation.

Re: NS-MB15600 Portable Charger - shuts off - hmmmm

Ryan,
I have an Insignia portable charger and had a lot of problems charging the charger itself on line (wall) current. It wouldn’t charge through the 4 blue led levels and often would just shut itself off on the first led. I was using GFI outlets in our kitchen. The problems ended when I started using nonGFI outlets. There seems to be something wrong with using GFI outlets for charging the battery charger. The Insignia charger won’t trip the GFI to shut off (so that you would have to hit the Test and Reset button to get the GFI outlet working again) - the Insignia charger just seems to quit working after plugging it into a GFI outlet. As soon as I plug into any non-GFI outlet, the charging works fine and completes after the constant 4 led display. Maybe your tech people know why GFI outlets can’t be used with Insignia chargers?
