So, I told the troglodyte at Best Buy that all I needed was a USB cable with a standard male connector at both ends, and he said this was what I needed. Um.. no. There are drivers embedded in the connector like a flash drive - except they appear to be read only so you can't delete them. It does not appear to be possible to get my computer to ignore those drivers. I am not connecting 2 computers. I am connecting a small SAN device that is not networked to my laptop via a USB cable. Is there ANY way to either delete the drivers off this cable or disable them so the computer ignores the drivers and sees the cable as only a "dumb" cable into the SAN?
