Hello Folks
Great effort! And what’s more… you folks are really on the right track (technology wise, idea wise, approach wise… in fact everything “geek” about you is great.
But where is the marketing team? To a casual observer (who bought his first insignia product in 2005 - 2006) I have seen little to no market awareness about the brand or the product. And even your “exclusive outlet” is clearly dropping the ball when it comes to Insignia products.
Today only I was at the Best Buy on Cedar Hills Blvd, Beaverton, OR buying a TV, and guess what? In the whole section devoted to TV’s I counted only 3 display models of the “Best Buy” Exclusive brand.
I was out looking for a specific model of the new 32” LED –LCD TV; you really need to add the manual for it online also… but I digress… so I was looking for this model and online had confirmed they had it in the store. I went in hooping to get a first hand feel of the picture quality before I bought it, but to my surprise I could not find it anywhere. When I talked to the isle expertS (S as in multiple) they told me the most of the models available were in “Clarence”. Better still, no one was aware that you folks even had an LED-LCD model let alone know about its features.
Fortunately for me, the person assisting me was really trying to help so got a ladder and she went over the packed boxes stacked up top to see if there were any 32” (forget the specific model I was looking for) available. And (like the website had said) they did. So I got what I went in for, and before leaving I asked her… “How come the LED unit was not on display like the hundreds of Samsungs and LGs? The honest / innocent answer was all the racks are full and we have no space left for it.
So everyone from Geek Squad (YOUR experts on call who did not know the model existed let alone help me with the specific feature question) to the sales force was clueless.
Don’t get me wrong, but as someone spending 1/3 of their month’s salary on something, it seemed to me I was buying a product the vendors were trying to hide in a corner.
What would any one expect I was going to do?
I guess my point is…. Where is the love from the marketing? Why go through all this if all the stores are going to promote are the Samsungs and LGs?
The intension of this post is not to get the marketing / sales folks into trouble but to bring up the obvious question… WHY????
Btw… do not let anyone tell you folks otherwise… I was right in my selection… the product I purchased (NS-32E570A11) is great (I have spent only 2 hours with it but what I love what I see).
My complements to the “geeks” who made it happen…

Ps… what do I get if I can help improve sales of your product? But then who cares for marketing inputs from a geek….

Hello Hiten,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback. I've already passed along your comments to Insignia™'s leadership, marketing and development teams for their review. Speaking for myself, it's good for us to know where our customers are encountering challenges in getting information and making their purchases. We can't improve if we don't know what the obstacles are and your testimony is invaluable to us for that and many other reasons.
Warmest regards,
John
