We bought this boom box to use at our vacation home, so it only gets used 3-4 weeks a year and then maybe 2-3 days during that week. It has never been in the rain or gotten wet and is always stored indoors. I'm providing this information as background.
When I used it in October of this year, the speakers sounded scratchy using the line input (for an mp3) and the volume was lower. We stopped using it. The mp3 player worked fine on the other speakers we used.
Last week we put in new batteries and nothing worked. It powered up, but there was no sound from the mp3 player, the FM radio. The CD player would spin up and then stop rotating.
I tried it today and the FM radio works albeit at a volume so low it can't be heard from more than 5-10' away. The CD player still acts as it did previously.
Is there an equivalent "reboot" for this using a combination of buttons?
I think I bought this unit this year and I suspect it may be out of warranty. I did buy it from Best Buy on Laburnum Ave in Richmond, VA and another page on your website states that you can look the purchase up for me?
It is a bit disappointing that the unit would quit as it did after only being used maybe 10 times over the time we have owned it. (By adults, no kids) Any help would be appreciated.

Update...you aren't going to believe this.
I did find the receipt and it was out of warranty.
Anyway, after we brought it back from Cozumel, it sat about 10' away from our woodstove for a week while you and I were conversing. So anyway, I got ready to take out the new batteries and throw the boombox awaywhen I decided to try it one last time......get this.....everything works as if nothing had happened.
I don't know if it was the tropical enviroment or what it was, but now the FM/MP3 and CD player all work AND the volume is back to normal. Wierd. It was definitely something electronic.
