NS-HD01

Received this for my birthday in April.  Love it and use it almost daily but noticed recently when turning on just alot of static noise and won't tune in channels.  Removing and inserting the headphone plug into the jack several times seemed to solve it, but yesterday even this failed.  This morning was finally able to get reception by "wiggling" the jack around a bit.  Seems the jack isn't right despite never being damaged.  Out of warranty too and never expected to have a problem like this with a unit designed to have the earbud jack repeatedly removed and inserted again. Poor quality?

Re: NS-HD01

Hello Walkerforlife,

Unfortunately it appears that the device is in need of repairs and I would suggest that you take it to your local Geek Squad.

NS-HD01 headphone jack problems

I'm on my third NS-HD01 Hd radio because the headphone jack seems to fail after a short time. I love the HD choices I have to listen to but I can't keep exchanging these units everytime this happens. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: NS-HD01 headphone jack problems

Same problem on my two NS-HD01 radios.  Has anyone been able to solve this?

Re: NS-HD01 headphone jack problems

Same problem with mine.

The headphone lead is the antenna, and the antenna connection is bad in my radio.  If I hold the headphone jack in just the right position, it will work fine, and pull in lots of stations.  Otherwise, very poor sensitivity.

Can someone please tell us how to get these things open?  I'm a broadcast engineer with 40+ years of experience.  If I could get it open, I'm sure I could re-solder the antenna connection to the jack.

Please don't just tell us to take it to the Geek Squad for service.  I'm not going to pay someone to fix a radio that I got for about $30...but I'd be happy to fix this minor (but very common) problem myself.

Thanks,

Dave O.

Re: NS-HD01 headphone jack problems

I too am trying to disassemble the radio for same reasons. Any luck yet?
