NS-HD02 Frozen

I bought an Insignia Portable HD NS-HD02 Radio from Best Buy. I was playing around with it, when all of a sudden, it froze. I tried to hold the power button, but that didn't work. I tried pressing reset, still no luck. I tried plugging it into the charger, nothing. Please help me! My Radio is frozen :smileysad: (Still playing sound)

Re: NS-HD02 Frozen

Hello Jeep,

While not ideal, I recommend letting the radio remain on until the battery is fully discharged, then recharge the unit.  If the problem persists after that, please let us know.

Re: NS-HD02 Frozen

I am having the same problem with my NS-HD02.  Your suggestion is to leave the radio on until the battery discharges,  but the screen is blank so I have no way of knowing if it is on or off or broken in some other way.

Re: NS-HD02 Frozen

Hello johnlef ,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

I agree that my suggestion would be less than ideal for an unresponsive radio.  Your other option is to visit the place of purchase with your HD radio and sales receipt (for warranty validation) to pursue service options.

Re: NS-HD02 Frozen

I experienced the same problem. The unit froze up and was unresponsive. The reset button is confusing. To use it you need to insert something into the reset hole. I don't recall that being explained in the instructions, but I could very well be wrong. The suggestion given to just let the power drain out and then recharge the unit is less than ideal (as mentioned above) to possibly correct the problem.

I used an unused staple from my stapler (straightened it out) to insert into the reset hole of my HD02 and that worked for me. The unit reset and the controls work again. Now I will again try and program this darn thing and hopefully not freeze it up again.  These fancy electronics today continually confuse me. I guess being 60 years old may be one of the reasons why. If I fail again, I think I will try and find a teenager who naturally will roll their eyes at me while shaking their head in disbelief when I explain my confusion.
